The Barony of Highland Foorde

Greetings unto the fair populace of Highland Foorde!

Hark unto the baronial picnic at which the new champions for heavy
fighter, rapier, archery, A & S, and bardic will be chosen, for it will be held
on Sunday, 1 November, from 10AM to 5PM at the home of Paul the
Englishman, 13025 Legore Bridge Road, Rocky Ridge, MD 21778. There is
indoor space, so it will be held rain or shine; if weather is bad, the
heavy fighter and archery competitions may be held at a later date.
Judging of A &S submissions will be between 11AM and 2 PM; bardic
competition will be about 3:30PM. If you have questions about the
competitions, please email me.
Meat will be put on the grill about noon and will be provided
(hamburgers, brats, Italian sausage, and hot dogs), as will hot and cold
beverages . The site is wet, and anything stronger than soda is BYO.
Garb is optional.

We hope you will share the pleasure of your company as you compete,
cheer on the competitors, or simply enjoy Highland Foorde fellowship and
goodwill.

DIRECTIONS TO SITE (all distances are approximate): From south, east,
and west, make your best way to Route 15 north out of Frederick. Exit
onto Old Frederick Road and follow 5.4 miles to a stop sign at
Creagerstown. Turn left onto Route 550 north and proceed 0.2 miles. Turn
right onto Longs Mill Road (from here, you will see signs for "Legore
Bridge Road detour"). Proceed 3 miles; when you see the "End detour"
sign, turn right onto Legore Bridge Road and proceed 0.4 miles to 13025
(brick ranchhouse on the left, mailbox on the right, scarecrows in front
yard).
>From north of Thurmont: Take Route 15 south to Thurmont, exit onto Route
77 east, and follow out of town to Longs Mill Road at Rocky Ridge; turn
right and follow, turning left onto Legore Bridge Road and proceeding to
13025 as described above.
